Saving Kelp Forests and Blue Carbon Restoration Projects

Harry Rappaport, Finance and Strategy at Urchinomics. Harry has always preferred life in the water to life on land. A faithful surfer, he has a deep connection and respect for the ocean and its immense influence on our planet. Since discovering the viability of mission-based business, he has focused his career on fulfilling his passion to protect, support, and responsibly harness the potential of the marine environment. Harry strongly believes in the importance of kelp forests and that the popularization of aquaculture can go hand in hand with the ideals of ecological management and restoration rather than abuse and inevitable destruction. Prior to joining Urchinomics, Harry worked at Gratitude Railroad, a community of impact investors focused on the profitable deployment of capital to solve the world’s environmental and social challenges. At Gratitude, he managed the organization’s direct investment diligence process and investor base of mission-focused family office investors. Harry started his career in financial services at global investment banks, where he advised Fortune 500 Treasury teams on interest rate and foreign exchange risk management. Harry holds a BA degree from Duke University where he majored in History with a concentration on Economic and Business Cultures.
